Howdo all - PLEASE READ (posted 25.4.06)

Yo peeps! *doinks all round*

So sadly the main forum isn't fixed as I had hoped it would be ......... and as you have probably found it is almost completely inaccessible now........

.... but I'm on the case hasslin' the web server tech support team over at uk2.net (where the site is hosted) who now believe that it is a server problem at their end and they are trying to fix it as I type this.... i.e. I didn't break it no matter what the Feral monkey tries to tell you!

Ok so the latest word is the following:

- The main board is currently down due to technical problemos so please don't post over there until you read on here that it's back up and running. Even though it's unpostable on at the moment, it might pop back up temporarily while being fixed so if you see it back up check here first to make sure it's back properly.

- The problem is with the server and I'm hammering at the server tech support's door to get them to fix it.... which they are currently doing. I'll keep you posted on progress ... so keep your eyes peeled this way....

- I don't wanna guess as to how long it's gonna take to sort 'cos I don't wanna jinx it lol..... so just get yerselves settled in here for the time being ]

- please feel freeee to spread the word amongst foggers you know about where this temp forum is at.... we're trying to spread the word so any spreadin' you could do would be sooo helpful o' yes! and thankinoooo muchos in advance

Couple of things you need to know about this forum

1. As there is no registration process to use this forum there is a code filter to prevent the board being spammed. You'll see this underneath where you edit your posts ... you'll need to type in the code when you want to actually post the post! .... bit of a pain but remember this is only temporary

2. The moderators are around as normal but it all works a bit differntly on here as there is basically only access for an admin to do any moderating.

So Feral and I are the only ones with Admin access .... so please... if you come across any thing you think needs dealing with on here in the same way as you might on the main forum.... please e-mail both of us!

I can't stress enough the importance of e-mailing the two of us.... this is the best way you can be sure you'll get a response ... which is always handy! lol

My brainfog.org email account isn't working :( I've just tried sending to it, as my work payslip goes to that account and everyone's arrived on the 25th, and mine didnae...nowt, no luck :( Haven't got anything from it since the 24th, is it broked? Or just stacked up somewhere and lost in the ether? :S

Hi Eeyore

I have no idea how much longer the forum will be down as Ally hasn't posted for awhile or been in touch with me.

As far as I'm concerned the deadline for the Alex Howard thread can be extended as May 1st was only picked as an easy date to remember. Alex himself is flexible as to when the questions are posted to him.

Hopefully Ally will post soon or be in touch so I will be able to say more then! My view would be to have the deadline extended so that there is another full week for questions once the main forum is restored and stable.

Brainfog is coming back, it's just taking longer than originally anticipated.... Ally has a LOT of technical thingys to do, and as I'm technically inept it's a one woman job... when the one woman is well enough to do it.. thank you all for your patience, please stick with us. It'll all be worth it in the long run
