I came across your website a while back and it really brought back some memories.
I was stationed at Altus from 1967 until they closed the SAC base in '68. As I recall, they sent the Hound dogs from Altus to make up the double wing at Barksdale. I was at Barksdale from 1968 to 1970. Was in AGM-28 hanger maint on both assignments.
I would also like to add that I had a buddy - James F. Martin - who served with me on both assignments. Sadly, he passed away on June 24, 1982.
We were together at Altus and Barksdale both. I worked hanger at Altus, and all three shops at Barksdale. Hanger, then flight line then Combined Systems. I was back there this spring for the AMMS Alumni for the first time. Met Lee Traveno from flight line still looks the same.
