STILL AVAILABLE IN THE RAINWATER HARVESTING WORKSHOP!!! Site will be
central Tucson. Build rainwater harvesting systems in time for our Winter
Rains!!!! Co-Sponsored & taught by DAWN SouthWest and Sonoran Permaculture
Guild members. Join us to learn how to conserve one of our most precious
resources and to grow food sustainably in the desert Saturday, October 29,
2005 9:00am-5:00 pm. Spend all day learning creative ways to collect
rainwater to grow gardens, intercept stormwater sheet flow, stop erosion and
restore the natural landscape. Learn how to build simple, in ground
catchments which will slow the runoff and to use wash water (gray water) for
irrigation of trees. We will also explore the possibilities of above ground
cisterns, using galvanized metal culverts to capture roof runoff. Cost: $95
