looking for info on cat allergy-help!

I love cats however my daughter seems to be allergic to them but wants one just the same. I am told there are breeds of cats that have hair - not fur- that she would not have a reaction to. Pls help - her birthday is in april. Thanks

Re: looking for info on cat allergy-help!

The breed of cat that you are requesting is called a Sphinx. I have been informed by breeders that they are extremely affectionate and very good with children.
However before making an expensive purchase it is best to check whether your daughter is allergic to the cat fur or cat saliva. Cat saliva is released into the air during the grooming process a Sphinx cat would also groom despite the lack of fur.
As a consultant I would advise that you contact your physician and have the appropriate tests conducted before seeking a breeder.
Please let the forum know whether you are able to own a Sphinx kitten for your daughter's birthday in April. The best of luck to you.

Sincerely,
