WE ONLY HIRE NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS
Who are we? We are a small chain of four English schools in southwest Kanagawa, Japan. Kevin Burns and his wife Ikumi started Kevin`s English Schools in 1991. After working for various schools in Japan, Kevin took what he knew and started his first school. He endeavoured to create a great learning environment. He was tired of all the arbarite tables and vinyl chairs of the schools he worked in, and frustrated with all the silly little rules about how and what to teach. He wanted to have more freedom in how he taught and what materials he used. He vowed that his teachers would have the same freedom because he knew that people work best when you allow their creativity and energy to flow. He also knew that when you treat your people well, they work better. Treating people like so many cogs of a machine wasn`t the answer. Read Kevin`s story from The Vancouver Sun here:
