Prague
The relegation round in Prague comes to an end today with the France-Japan game. Moray Hanson will be the referee. The game is of little importance since it's already decided, after yesterday's Kazakhstan-Ukraine 2-2 tie that both teams will be relegated. Marco Coenen was linesman in a game and got hit in the mouth with a puck, needed 6 stitches and damaged 4 teeth according to Moray. Few surprises, Russia didn't make the final 8 (the Ostrava section was always going to be tough with 5 of the top 8 teams); last night (Monday) Czechs beat Canada 6-2 in a sold out Sazka arena (capacity 17000 ) to take first place in the Prague group. At Czech games the sponsor Eurotel is giving away an inflatable glove that fans can fit over their hand and wave. It has the first two fingers extended. I assume it doesn't mean the same over here!!!!! Roger
