Nottingham Panthers in Continental Cup 2004

Full text of today's IIHF press release:

The city of Szekesfehervar, Hungary and its national champion Alba Volan will be hosting the final of the 2004-2005 IIHF Continental Cup on January 7 – 9, 2005. This was approved by the IIHF and the participating national associations and teams in Vienna on June 19. The Hungarian champion will be joined by the Russian league powerhouse Dynamo Moscow and by HKm Zvolen, the finalist of the Slovak league playoffs.
The third round winner will be the fourth team in the 2005 IIHF Continental Cup Super Final.
The participation in the 2004-2005 Continental Cup is limited to one team per country, namely the champion of the countries not invited to take part in the IIHF Super Six and a club from the top league of the national associations joining the IIHF Super Six (to be played in St. Petersburg, Russia, January 13 – 16, 2005).
Dynamo Moscow, HKm Zvolen and Great Britain’s Nottingham Panthers (runners-up) are Continental Cup participants who are not champions in their respective countries.
The 2004-2005 IIHF Continental Cup will be played in three rounds prior to the final in Hungary.

First round (24 – 26 September)
