Hall of Fame coach quits UK
From the Steelers' official website. Press release - Blazer quits: 4-7-04 The Steelers wish to confirm that late on Friday evening [2 July] they were advised by coach Mike Blaisdell of his intention to remain in Canada next season and become assistant coach of his home town team, the Regina Pats. Mike has put forward an offer to remain as part of the Steelers' organisation as director of player personnel and assist in the recruitment of players and a coach for next season. The club is presently considering this offer. Steelers' owner Norton Lea said: "While we are disappointed by Mike's decision, we can assure all Steelers' supporters that we will work round the clock to ensure that Mike's replacement is the best man for the job. "We have already received names of potential candidates and interviews will commence shortly." |
