Gary Stefan and Neville Moralee - official changes
I have today received official notification of changes to the officials in the governing body from 1 July 2004. I have not received any notification of Gary's status from the British National League and he has not returned my calls. Extract from Ice Hockey UK release below. ICE HOCKEY UK 47 Westminster Buildings Theatre Square Nottingham NG1 6LG Tel:+44 (0) 115 924 1441 Fax:+44 (0) 115 924 3443 www.icehockeyuk.co.uk hockey@icehockeyuk.co.uk 16 July 2004 PRESS RELEASE No Embargo Some changes have occurred on the Board of Directors. In line with Ice Hockey UK's policy of rotation of officers, Neville Moralee has succeeded Stuart Robertson as Chairman. Gary Stefan has resigned as a Director representing FBNL. Neville Moralee stated: "Gary was one of the original Directors of IHUK, and has made a significant contribution to the organisation. His input was always useful, based as it was upon a long and profound knowledge of our sport. We hope that he will continue his connection with the GB Senior Team." |

Well, does this improve anything in anyone's opinion? I don't know much of the new guy at all - short of hearing his name off and on! |

Neville is a retired schoolmaster who has been involved with the EIHA for many years, mostly as their treasurer. As the EIHA are comfortably the wealthiest 'governing body' in our sport, you can say he's done an excellent job. He and former IHUK chairman Stuart Robertson were this country's delegates to the IIHF meetings in May and I understand the infamous decision to withdraw GB from the Olympics was a joint one. I believe Neville is in office for only 12 months. I doubt we will see much change of direction in the way IHUK is governed. |
