It is the management offering such low pay. Anyone who is any good can and WILL find another job elsewhere very soon after joining - we have a big problem retaining quality staff
What you are often left with is the "improvers" or the "he can run a Folder or can cut if it is already setup/programmed"
WTF ?
My grandmother can probably fly a jumbo jet if it is at 32,000ft but when it comes to landing I am gonna be bailing out with a parachute
Decent skilled operators will think outside the box time and again like pointing out that this section doesn't have a lip for the Mullers
"Yes well we can sucker it open" says the manager
"But it is a long 8pg that all folds flush - you can't sucker that open 101%"
I could go on with endless examples about skilled operators thinking outside the box - where as "improvers" doing it all on the cheap don't even know there is a box - "is that the A4 boxes we use ?"
People doing overtime at flat rate are screwing themselves and the rest of the workforce and this fatal
What many companies are left with after the skilled oprators have moved on for better rates of pay & conditions is more improvers than skilled operators
And so in the firms that are paying poor wages & conditions you have:
more bloomin' Cowboys than there was at the " OK Corral "
Yeeeee Haaawwwwww |
