Alas I will pass on this unless I consider the ones who have left the game altogether
If you are a good all rounder then I think you should be around £15 I would say
I think the gap is closing on the press/bindery wages as there is a challenge to recruit and more importantly KEEP good finishers with experience
Experience is a funny thing though, Sometimes people with vast amounts of experience can be deemed to be very set in their ways
Knowledge is a wonderful thing often gained through years of experience and learning from others
However knowledge and experience are nothing on their own compared to having the wisdom in knowing how to use the previous two skills
25yrs "experience" so far and still learning, but I reckon in about 5yrs I will also leave the trade too.
Not due to poor wages as I doing ok-ish but more to the point of getting fed up with bad management, organising of work and poor communication, positive suggestions being ignored, recruiting sub-standard people coz of the poor wages they offer.
Finishing was always forgotten about and ignored but lately more pressure is on all departments to perform more for less money which is made worse when others often make our lives more difficult than it already is |
