Dear Doe,
Hi there. That's great about the website and what you're doing. I will visit the site.
The word anoint means literally to "pour oil on" and was used by God to set apart kings, priests, prophets.
Symbolically, the oil speaks of hte holy spirit. Also the word Christ (Christos) literally means the anointed one.
When we speak of anointing today, we are talking about the Holy Spirit giving us power and ability to do what God has called us to do.
God bless. Hope that helps.
Love,
Shoshana
Here are some definitions of anoint:
To apply oil, ointment, or a similar substance to.
To put oil on during a religious ceremony as a sign of sanctification or consecration.
To choose by or as if by divine intervention.
Anointing: (shemen, Hebrew), "The burden-removing, yoke-destroying power of God."
To anoint: (mashach, Hebrew), "to rub or smear with oil; to consecrate; to paint."--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: Um, hi, I have a question.? Where is everybody. I was the last post (that I can see) on the 23rd! No one ever answered my annointing question? Heehee, this is spooky. Shashonna are you Jewish, you can just email me at my ISP email about that if you want to.
Ok, prayer request. I'm setting up a fundraiser/website called MYCAUSE at CFIDS Association of America, they are giving me everything, so it's very easy. If anybody goes there to give a donation, it goes directly to CFIDS not me.
The money goes toward research, and helping to one day find a cure. So if ya'll would pray about that endeavor I would so appreciate ite.
