No Maureen and different places call it different things but it is no longer called Epsein-Barr, EB can trigger it, but also Herpes 6 and 7, retroviruses, parvoviruses, Hershumoto Syndrome, a traumatic event, food poisioning (Laura Hildebrande), 7 winning championships in a row, a soccer mom (can't think of her name. Anyway, I know I have it in my system because I had mono in highschool and the virus lies dormant for the rest of your life and that is why you can get EB twice.  They don't have a place for me to get checked for the proper biomarker also, it is in Nevada, but we can't go there, I would never make it. I am very weak and I am homebound. There are ulcers so painful you want to die that I have had for 3 months, and there are neurological things as well. My cognitive thinking is way off, one because I have narcolepsy and 2 because of CFS/ME, and 3 because my cognitive abilities are not what they once were. I don't go anywhere unless my husband drives us, and thats quik trips. I just read an essay given to the US CDC at a conference and the organization I am part of CFIDS (www.cfids.org), the essay is by a brillian woman by the name of Mary Schweitzer and she lives in Canada. She had CFS so bad that she over a period of years she became wheelchair bound, and she had been a Professor at a University and her students diagnosed her! With ME as they call it in the UK! They heard of a drug although experimental in England that cost $40,000 a year. Her family was very supportive and they decided to do it. She had to be tested and thats when they found herpes 6 and 7, Epstein of course, some neurological stuff, NMS/POTS? Hersumoto Sydrome, one other thing and a biomarker that had a bunch of number and letters. This explained why she could not read or write anymore, could not walk because she would pass out and fall, or be walking and go into a trance. Herpes 6 and 7 causes Enchephilitis and Menengitis!!!! Agh. Hershumoto (if I have that spelled correctly) is a disorder of the thyroid gland, you know what EB is and NMS/POTs (I would have to look that up on her essay again to make sure I'm spelling it correctly, but that is a neurological thingie that mostly affects pediatrics. When Mary went on the experimental drug in England, she went from a 30% life expectancy to a 70% life expectancy. So, will this just be the worst year of my life with CFS and go away and then I stable out or will I wind up like Mary except there are no drugs here for CFS or ME, to use for the actual disease, only drugs to treat symptoms.(pain, pain, narcolepsy, noting yet on fatigue, severe fatigue). (smiles)
