Wilma Luttrell

Wilma Aileen Burns-Luttrell, 84, of Evarts, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital following a long illness. A wonderful Christian woman, she was a member of the Red Bud Baptist Church. Of all things, Wilma loved the Lord, her children and her family. She also loved going to the Harlan Senior Citizens Center.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence T. Luttrell; her parents, Mary Malicoat Burns and Dennis Burns; three sisters, OmaLee Shelton, Trula Widner and Bobbie Napier; and four brothers, Baker, Fess, Gene and Cecil Burns.

Left to mourn her passing are her four children, Verna Luttrell-Napier (Paul), Douglasville, GA; Sharon Luttrell-Etelman (Al), Marietta, GA; Vanessa Luttrell-Leffert (Kyle), Novi, MI; John Luttrell (Joyce), Evarts; and five grandchildren, Eric Napier, Douglasville, GA; Brian and Daniel Etelman, Marietta, GA; Kaitlyn and Evan Leffert, Novi, MI.

Also surviving are her special cousin, George Baker Miller and wife, Naomi; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones; special friends and wonderful caregivers; special friends at the Harlan County Senior Citizens Center; and her wonderful doctor, Jeremy O. Jackson. The family wishes to express their appreciation for all that you did for her.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 1, 2012, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Blair and Pastor Danny McCreary, who led Wilma to the Lord many years ago.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
