Floyd Carr


Floyd “Tom Dooley” Carr, 61, of Red Bud, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born September 7, 1951 in Clay County, but had lived here most of his life. Tom was a coal miner and believed in the Holiness faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Huskey Carr and Curtis Carr; five brothers, John, Earl, Jack, David and Curtis Carr, Jr.; two sisters, Larabelle Carr and Wanda Carr.
Survivors include one brother, Roy Gene Carr, Richmond; two sisters, Millie Couch, Mt Vernon; and Mary Frances Marcum, Jackson County. Also surviving are four nieces Christine Barnes, Jennifer Marie Jenkins, Sonya Robbins, Fannie Marcum; a nephew Charlie Couch, Jr.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Aaran Barnes, Heather Rae Barnes, Tiffany Cooper and Ty Aaron Couch; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 1 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with Reverend John Luttrell officiating.

Burial will be in the Carr Family Cemetery, Red Bud.
