He said, "I'll love you 'til I die"
She told him, "You'll forget in time"
As the years went slowly by
She still preyed upon his mind
He kept her picture on his wall
Went half crazy now and then
He still loved her through it all
Hoping she'd come back again
Kept some letters by his bed
Dated 1962
He had underlined in red
Every single I love you
I went to see him just today
Oh, but I didn't see no tears
All dressed up to go away
First time I'd seen him smile in years
He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today
You know, she came to see him one last time
Ohh, and we all wondered if she would
And it kept running through my mind
This time, he's over her for good
He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away HE STOPPED LOVING HER TODAY
mr. jimmy and charlie bailey, we lost the very best in george jones. he could really sing a great country tune. hope each of you are doing good.good to hear from each of you on here. big hat bateman enjoyed hearing old george.
Like Mr. Charlie said who will fill his shoes. Two people that come to my mind that still sing true country music would be George Strait and Alan Jackson. George Strait and Alan Jackson said it the best it can ever be said when they sang "Murder on Music Row." Country music is no longer country music.
HelloMr. Leroy ,its good to hear from you too. I think the good singers of our time didn't leave much too sing about because they don't sing about much nowadays.Id like to hear Big Hats take on country music the way it is today, wouldn't you
Been awhile Mr. Leroy . Guess I'm getting old , still like my pure country. I agree George Strait and Alan Jackson about as pure as they have today . Alan Jackson also has a great gospel album (Precious Memories).
Big Jim you are old. Lol but you passed that type of music down to me. I don't even listen to the radio unless its time for Swap Shop any other time I'm listen to the MP3 or Pandora radio. Us young ones may have more technology but some of us still know good music when we hear it.
