Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

In the Sixteen Masters that have been run so far 13 dogs have won it. Maybe some one could go back on the All American and ck it, just found this interesting. Not many Phillies win the Ky. Derby just wondering how it really shook out in the tougher hunts in the hound world.

Re: Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

I would be curious to know how many of each was entered

Re: Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

Where is Heath Howell when you need him for a history lesson!! lol

Re: Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

Other than Wheeler what othe two dogs have won twice. You said 16 hunts 13 different dogs would like to know the other two .Thanks in advance.

Re: Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

When he says "dog" he means male dog. 13 male dogs.

Some of the best repeat champions have been female. Consider P&R Ginger Jo R, Yazoo Baby Rose, Red Gal, PD Hope, Norman Howard's Maggie, etc.

Re: Comparing Dogs and Gyps Just a Note

Great topic! I also remember a couple more female multi-champions; Ward's
Quick Lips, five field championships, and my favorite Big City Express.
In further pursuing the question since 1970 the South Carolina State has
been won by 17 Dogs and 26 Females.
By the way all of you guys are cordially invited to the Low Country Fox Pen
May 14-17th. Call Travis Johnson, 843-221-4830, for numbers. Ya'll come.

According to this year's program, there have been 25 gyps and 22 males that have won the All American.

Now, I am basing this on how the names of some of the early winners sound.

I know that in 1991, Wyatt O'Steen won with Squeek and he was a male with a female sounding name, so I may be off a hound or two on the earlier ones.
