Re: Alps this Summer - any suggestions

I must admit that I would like to go back to Chamonix as, last time it was great. Might be better to have a guide though.

I would liek a bit more XC so I dont get so fat

I don't know much about the other places so I'll do some digging (look out for a STW thread!!)

Damon - YGM at work. Les Arcs sounds great.....

Re: Re: Re: Alps this Summer - any suggestions

My money would be on Chamonix or Verbier, but whatever the destination I think we really need some quality guiding this time. Dave and the guys at Freshtraxx were great hosts and they may hopefully know the trails much better now, so we could go back there.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Alps this Summer - any suggestions

The XC riding in verbier is great, we would need a guide. Kev and I missed the trail we should of taken by a few metres. The problem is that the village is quiet compared to Chamonix and the holidays are quite expensive. My vote Chamonix with Dave. I will need to check dates are ok with NIcky.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Alps this Summer - any suggestions

Come on all - look at that Les Arcs website . It looks brilliant over there. Gets my vote.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Alps this Summer - any suggestions

Wherever we decide to go we should look at booking a house. Most of the houses to rent in the alps are cheap during the summer season and we could sort ourselves out for food.

I don't mind anywhere in french alps although quite fancy somewhere nearish to Tignes so could do a few days snowboarding on the Glacier. Saw the pics of Chamonix the year before last and it looked good. To take boards and bikes I really would need to drive down which is the only downside.
