Recently the proud owner of a 2004 patriot deore, so you can imagine I'm in need of somewhere good to test out what it can really do! Cold is never a barrier and I have the weekend off work, so I'm definitely up for a ride this weekend, however having warped priorties means I have a kick-ass bike but no car... that could present difficulties for an exotic ride but I'm up for some good old bristolian terrain!

As I am still a rigid man, that coulod be an interesting ride! I am keen really to do a XC epic..... can the new bouncer take the uphills?

I could be up for a Winter Epic. It's a liitle while since I've done Exmoor, so that could be good.

the patriot is not bad on climbs, feels a bit like a tank but the pro-pedal shock ensures most energy goes into moving. it sure prefers gravity lending a hand though!

what's exmoor like for a ride? i'm afraid my riding experience doesn't extend outside avon or gloucestershire...

I cannot make it now because I'm going down to the Surrey Hills, but if anyone fancies a ride down there on Saturday, your more than welcome. Trails are superb, loadsa singletrack and a good few technical bits, although not 'Epic' in the sense of Exmoor or The Brecons.

If we do the usual route from Minehead,its quite a hard ride with alot of climbing and will probably be a good 4 hours of riding.Top day out though!
