Is this for as Degree ?

Hi

It is for work I am doing on an Event Management Option at College. I have got through alot of the general academic stuff about marketing and sponsorship. I am now trying to tie it better to mountain biking. Simple things like promoting the sport better to young people and girls/women (i have included a wide range of ideas so far) and also getting a different range of sponsors to support the mountain bike series.

I really need a reference to mountain bike specific sources of information if you have any - a sort of facts and figures file for mountain biking.

Sally, You may be wise to buy a reputable mountain bike journal/magazine such as MBR or What Mountain Bike or even Mountian Bike UK which has articles and news about each discipline such as downhill, trials cross country etc. they will also have plent of "facts and figures about the sport in general.

as reagrds to attracting more people to the sport ...there is usually plenty of advertising in these magazines. some weeks they do articles about mountain bike training courses for beginners to the sport etc.

Do you know where I will get route maps from for different venues - not maps to get to the venue but the actual courses?

Check British Cyclings website for the up and coming events and follow the links :-)
