Re: GPS

Hi Nigel,

I have loads of routes that I have collated overtime with my Garmin and sometimes PDA.

These are mainly: Minehead, Quantocks, Wye Valley, Black Mountains, Wentwood, Marlborough Downs and FoD.

Do you use tracklogs or memory map. I prefer TL and have most of my routes in that format.

We have been thinking for a long about adding a route section to the site. But time is always an issue.

Follow thislink for a couple of Black Mountain routes by Steve.P and myself.

What routes do you have ?

Regs,

Mike

Re: Re: GPS

I would love copies of the routes you have. My list is on my first posting.

I record the tracks, then import them into Fugawi OS. I am afraid that Track logs was too expensive. This allows me to plot them on the OS and to edit out any spurious points.

I love the idea of there being a download section on the website and next year I am planning to do the GPS rider routes on Dartmoor (if I can load their data)

A key issue is how to exchange data. I have the Garmin waypoint manager software (which is pretty useless). I am wondering if there is a freeware format that all interested parties could use?
