Yea that shop told me the same after I test rode one of their bikes that wasn't set up properly, a load of rubbish. Losen the mounting bolts holdind the caliper and then hold the brake lever in, this will center the disc. Then whilst holding the lever in tighten the bolts back up and it should not rub. If the rubbing noise is constant this will solve the problem. If the noise is intermitant, check that the disc is not warped and that the wheel is set in correctly. Good look

this method only works with hayes breaks and not hope or the such like!!! you may also whant to make sure that the break mounts have been faced off if is a new machine.....!
