Salvation As A Gift-Package



Salvation is a big subject in the Bible and it is like a beautiful jigsaw puzzle of a very beautiful picture that we need to arrange and fit together so that we can fully see God’s wonderful plan of salvation for those people whom God has elected to be His adopted children in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians l: 4).



God is not the author of confusion. He is a God of order and He does everything not by accident but by orderly process. For instance the big mango tree start as a small seed before it became a huge tree. And all human being came out of his or her mother’s womb. Every morning the sun rise in the east and the sun set in the west.



Do you know that upon careful study of the Bible and with the help of the Holy Spirit we will find out that even salvation is an orderly process plan by God from the very beginning even before time began? Please see 2 Timothy 1:9 and 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

Salvation of true Christian or God’s children is not only an orderly process but the truth of the matter is that salvation is also a package or a gift-package given to those elected or chosen people of God. When the Bible said in Ephesians 2:8-9 that: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast” we should understand that salvation is indeed a gift-package given to us by God without any condition. Salvation is an l00% act of God without human participation.



Since God is the creator of everything that is good we can also say that even our existence is a gift from God. And since eternal life is a gift from God we can also say that even the condition of faith, which is a requirement for salvation, must also be a gift from God. When the Bible said in John 3:l6 that: “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”. We must understand that Jesus Christ Himself is a Gift given to us by God. And take note that the Holy Spirit that gives us spiritual gifts is also a Gift Himself.



Salvation is a gift-package. And this gift-package includes our human birth, our new spiritual birth or the receiving of a gift of a new heart enabling us to live again, gift of repentance because of that new heart, gift of forgiveness which is salvation from the penalty of sin which is death, gift of sanctification or spiritual growth and lastly gift of glorification which is receiving from God the gift of new glorified physical incorruptible body.



A true Christian or followers of Jesus Christ who read and tremble at the Word of God is assured of the gift of eternal life. Actually before even his existence God has already prepared for him that gift-package of salvation and in fact God knew him even before the earth was made (Ephesians l: 4). If we believe that we are a true Christian there is a need for us to continually examine ourselves and the Bible exhorts us to make our calling and election sure (l Peter l: l0).
