breeding association

Hello I am thinking of starting my own cattery breeding purebred siberians. I am in the process of waiting for this gorgeous female torti to be old enough to leave its mommy. I have posted on the various siberian websites with questions regarding starting a cattery. I was approached from a breeder who belongs to a siberian breeders association about about purchasing a male. She is offering to work out a deal on the price of the male because i cant afford to breeder cats at this time. With the purchase comes a mentoring program of three years. However anyone who buys a breeder kitten from any of the breeders that belong to the association must agree to join the association. I do not know the rules to the assc yet or the deal she wants to work out about the purchase of the kitten. My question is Has anyone ever belonged to or heard of an association of breeders? and is it a good idea? The breeder I'm getting the female from said her answer to that was she does not belong and that was all she wanted to say on the subject. However they are willing to mentor for three years and the kitten has a three year health cottract. I would like to hear other opinions on this subject.
