The 2016 Tar Heel FHA 3-Day is in the books and again this year proved to be a great hunt with a good class of hounds and hunters. Friday’s weather was brutal with sub-freezing temperatures, Saturday brought us some rain and wind, and Sunday brought us summer like temperatures. It’s not often that the hounds and judges get to experience all 4 seasons of weather in one weekend. Any who competed and finished this hunt should hold their head high, as “The Jungle” is a tough place to pull 3 days. Big thanks to all the judges and hunters that came out and supported this hunt. Master of Hounds Pete Warren started the Tar Heel FHA and has kept it up for over 20 years. It was good to see a lot of familiar faces that always participate in this annual event. Thanks to Ronnie Ireland of the Bay City Preserve for having the pen ready and the game in shape again this year. Hope to see you all again next year. Congratulations to Brian & Jessica Griffin on making their first Field Champion with Hot Rod’s Classy and also winning the Speed and Drive with Dolly (Classy’s Dam). You don’t see that too often either.
