The Eastern Derby was held March 19 - 21 at triple B fox preserve in Wallace NC. We took entries Friday March 19 and at the end of the day we had a total of 167 of the Best Derby hounds in America. We auctioned off numbers 1- 11 Friday and that gave us another $1665 to add to the $5100 we had already added for a total of $6765 added money. Needless to say we had a tremendous Pay back. The first day the running was wall to wall under very harsh and windy conditions. Our judges all 21 of them did a fantastic job getting on top of them and the score board reflected it. The high Hound had 1050 GTP #5 Kickem Back Gotcha. It took 594 GTP to get in top 40 and 7 hounds with 740 or better and 39 Hounds with over 600. Bench show was held at 5pm with hound #5 winning J. Barbers Gotcha BIS and 31 going BOS High Cotton Trouble.
No way did we think Sunday could be any better, still under bad conditions but it was.
