The 1st annual Georgia State Youth Fox Hunters Association 1 Day Hunt was held at the United Fox Pen, in Swainsboro, GA, on June 15th. We had about 50 kids, ranging in ages from infant to 17 who cast 99 dogs. This was truly a hunt to be a part of, and if you missed it this year, make sure you're there next year. A special thank you must be said to Bub Moody, Ben Thompson, and Wes Mincey for having the pen in such good shape. Special thanks also must be given to Jake & Ellen Patrick for all that they did, and Bobbi Jo Burriss, aka Shortcake, for the awards. Also, the following were instrumental to making this hunt a huge success: The Masters FHA, Tillman, Brannen, & Minick, Anderson's General Store, Black Creek Feed, Midsouth Feeds, Stewart Distributors, Purina, Georgia Hunting & Fishing Federation, Andy Bedgood, Anthony Cone, Jerry Stapleton, Ben Thompson, and Marvin Deloach. We also could not have made it happen without all of the judges, who donated their time for the kids. Bay Lewis was our Bench Show Judge, and Dale Parker was our Master of Hounds, and both did an outstanding job. The results are as follows:
