dogs killing bears is a excuse. we all know that most hunting this time a year does not effect bears and really question whether there is any proof on that. I figure more bears are kill by autos and a few by hunters than any hunting hound. we are limited on where dogs are run in our area. this is another excuse to eliminate hunting.

Speaking of bears, WHAT ARE THEY WORTH? I wish all the deer was gone from Ms. The forest Service and Game and Fish have ruined the hunting anyway. Maybe the forest service could get rid of half their people or more, and start to managing tree's.

Timber companies are business they don't like loosing money so boycott them and make it hard on them too for example there are I'm sure some endangerd insect or animal or bird living in there timber and you know we can't disturb them by cutting timber plus why don't the pens have hunts and give plaques and the rest of the money to help pay to keep our rights I know I don't run hounds to make money I go to work for that any way money hunts is killing our sport I

we will have a hunt in feb. with proceeds going to lsa to fight for our rights. we can not stop now. we are looking at some various ways to approach this and raise money. we need all hunters to stick together. the hunt will be at gopher hills fox pen.

The sticking together is a must but when you put money in the mix some people can't help theirselves. I don't know how so many people got left off of this list that did pay. Maybe a good ole receipt book would come in handy with records that show what is going on and where the money is going or if some of these people selling memberships is giving ya'll all the money. May not have to have as many membership drives. Just a thought!

randy, we have a membership form that each hunter is suppose to complete with name and address. if they did that, then they would be on the list. membership is due every year on jan. 1. we have increase membership to 40 dollars a year as on jan. 1,2014. the money taken in has gone to pay the attorney. now we will take all the help we can get to help run the lsa better, but it is hard for a few to do everything. if you would like to help give me a call at 448-0940.

I just cannot see spending that kind of money [to fight the feds.]that LSA has spent to keep dog hunting open for SEVEN DAYS in the KNF, do the math. Yes, I DO UNDERSTAND ABOUT OTHER KINDS OF HUNTING BEING IN JEOPARDY and the LWF will be after all dog hunting in the next few years and maybe sooner. I would just like to point out there are other areas that you cannot hunt deer with dogs in LA. but the KNF IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT LSA IS CONCERNED ABOUT. How many other areas do you ever see them talking about trying to get opened up that have been closed. NONE. JUST FOR THE RECORD I HAVE DOG HUNTED ALL MY LIFE, FOX, DEER AND RABBIT ALSO STARTED HOG HUNTING THIS YEAR WITH DOGS. I DO NOT HUG TREES BY ANY MEANS. The lawyers are the only ones coming out smelling like a Rose. So go ahead and bad mouth me all you want to but this is how I see it.

I will not bad mouth you. you have a right to your opinion and I respect that. we took on the u.s. forestry over 5 yrs. ago to try to keep our hunting rights. our members wanted to fight this all the way so that what we decided to do. it is a great deal of money to spend but they wanted to do this. this is not only for deer dog hunters because we represent all hunters. I am a foxhunter and coyt. hunter who is helping with this because they are comeing after all hunters in my opinion. you are wrong on one point, we have discuss with lwf etc. about opening various mang. area run by the state. we have not gotten anywhere with this. we took on the knf because it was the first issue to come up over 5 yrs ago.

Mr. Husser he was not talking about Wildlife Management Areas every body knows they are not going to allow that. There are areas in La. that is mostly private owned [with some scattered timber company land] that you cannot deer hunt with dogs because of the LDWF closed these areas. I personally know some owners of large tracts of land that cannot deer hunt with dogs on their own land and I'm talking about more than a thousand acres each. THAT IS A **** SHAME!

max, he made statement that we were only concern about knf. I do not think that is correct because we have look into others places that could allow dog hunting. the main area is wildlife mang. area., but it will take some pressure from hunters to do this.
