New Years wishes for my fellow hunters. No particular order of importance; just as they fly in one ear and probably out the other.

-- for everyone: a fast hound with a good nose and tough feet; heart enough to do three days and personality enough to be handled without kilowatts.

-- for dex manufacturers: a drop in production.

-- for the Nation: continued inclination to take the road less traveled.

-- for field trial judges: a love of the chase that trumps weather conditions, heart conditions and ingratitude.

-- for PETA and their comrades: a lick of common sense

-- for outside hunters: a Garmin that lasts a week and tracks 30 miles and a continued strong constitution. You need both these days.

-- for myself: one more. Just one more.

Charlie, That less-traveled road can lead to wonderful un-seen vistas or a bottomless swamp. I believe I'll stay on the blacktop.
As for our friend Steve, he might have got side-tracked on a dead-end path for a while, but he's back on the super highway of life.
