The 2015 Carolina Breeder's Cup is in the books... and as we had hoped, it was a "Burner" ..... almost LITERALY.

Day 1 in the "Big Pen", Day 2 in the "Little Pen" next door.

Thank you Richard Evans for having both pens ready to rock and roll.

Thank you Marvin Ricks for mastering the hunt, and keeping 23 hustling judges under control.

We had 269 dogs entered the first day from Virginia, North & South Carolina, and Georgia.
We wanted to have the "Cut List" of the top 100 and ties out about 3:00 pm Friday, so we could get the bench show started around 4:00.
We had a little delay in the plans , as we had a camper catch fire !!
But some quick action, and smart thinking by some folks kept the situation from really getting out of hand.

After calling out the top 100 and ties (we actually had 101 eligible to go the 2nd day) , Our judge Davis Hallman and assistant Jeff Lucas called the Specialty Feeds Bench Show to order.
Thank you to Chuck Haaland for the donation of feed, Ricky Shehane for donating a numbering table, and Bobbi Jo Burris for donating the blankets. We had between 30-35 dogs in each class for them to pick thru. When the dust settled, #391 had won the male side, and #83 won the female side. Each received 250 pounds of feed and blankets.
Congrats to Team Xtreme for winning the bench show with #391 NC(b)SC(b) Ch. Kuntry's Bugle Boy. For this he also won a numbering table and trophy.

When the day 1 scores were posted , #6 was on top with 485 S&D points kept after time cuts (this dog was scored 21 times by 15 different judges).
#26 and #714 were 2nd & 3rd the first day. The top S&D dog for day 1 received $250 from the hunt and $150 certificate from 3 Rivers Supply. 2nd place and 3rd place got $100 & $50 certificates from 3 Rivers - Thanks Chris McDonald.

After a few withdrawn and failed to answers we cast 97 of the 101 eligible dogs in the "Little Pen" the 2nd morning.... And it was ON.
And ON...And ON.

A few numbers tell the tale:
We had over 2100 dogs scored the 2nd day in 765 crossings by the 13 judges that covered the little pen . That's almost 3 crossings EVERY MINUTE for the entire 5 hours.

The top dog for day 2 was hound #23 - this dog scored 1145 S&D points (45 times by 12 different judges), keeping 810 after time cuts. As the top S&D for day 2 - he received $400 from the hunt.

We also want to thank Kylie Tanner for inputting the scores, and to Bobbi Jo Burris and Erin Caskey for their help keeping the computers and printers going.

When it was added up #6 - Bell - owned by the Orange Shirt Mafia, was the 2015 Breeder's Cup GTP winner. This dog had 485 (day 1) and 695 (day 2) for 1180 S&D and 1368 GTP. As the top S&D dog for the hunt they received a numbering table from Ricky Shehane, A blanket from Bobbie Jo Burris for winning the GTP , and 600 pounds of Showtime and Pride dog feed.

Thanks again to Chuck Haaland , Randy McGovern, and Mike Carr. With the support of Specialty Feeds , Showtime Feeds , and Pride Dogfood we were able to give away a ton of feed at the bench show, and 2 tons of feed to the top 10 GTP and combination winner, the best mouth, and the classiest hound.
