Myself and a few others that I know of have had some hounds that quit eating and probably would have died if they had not been fed canned dog food or cooked meat for a few days. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have any ideas about what is causing this ??

I had one started eating slower and losing weight so I put him in a pen by his self he would eat it all by the next day but still losing weight tried can food purina one everything so this was over a 2 week period then he quit eating all together took him to the vet and it was tick disease and hookworms give him doxycycline 2 times a day and panacur 3 days in a row he seems to be getting better eating like he use too I hope this helps

Not sure but believe it has to do with heat exhaustion. Saved two by putting them on canned dog food (Alpo with gravy) for several days until they got back to eating dry food again ??
