The Virginia Classic FHA Masters 2 day derby was held on April 18th and 19th of 2025. This was the inaugural year for this hunt so we as a freshly made organization wanted to come in with a bang! We want to give the Master’s a huge shoutout for allowing us to use their weekend at Pooles Foxhound Training Preserve to make this event happen! We knew we wanted to make an explosive first year and I feel like we were able to do just that.

Something else we did for this hunt, we started something very special to the fox hunting community. Recently we lost a dear friend to many of us in the passing of Mr. Duane “DJ” Bennett. We wanted to honor the life of DJ with a challenge trophy. So we created the “I’m Him” Speed and Drive Challenge Trophy which would be awarded every year to the highest dog speed and drive. This year, it went to the winner of the hunt who accumulated the highest speed and drive scores over the two days. So congratulations to Fields Creek on winning and we want to thank Mr Duane and Mrs. Mary Carol Bennett for allowing us to honor their sons life with this award.
