What a shame about the fire that has destroyed this centuries old pub, not to mention the residential properties adjoining it. Thankfully, no-one was injured in the blaze.
This is, of course, the second tragedy to befall the Tradesmans Arms in recent years, since the Landlord hung himself to death from the Oak tree outside the pub a few years back.
What is it with post-Lockdown pub fires? Both the Tower Inn at Slapton and my local village pub here in Wiltshire have suffered significant, but thankfully not catastrophic kitchen fires lately !
Photos of happier times at the Tradesmans can be found on our members photo pages on this site. It was one of our meeting points for a couple of years during Nick and Beck's tenure (around the time of our 30th reunion).
