Rumble In The Jungle 2011
The SRHA held its first hunt of 2011 on Sat. Jan. 8 at Bay City fox preserve in Bayboro NC. If this hunt is any indication of how things are going to be for the SRHA, then 2011 will be a great year. This was one of the best hunts we have ever had anywhere and the scores showed it. There was a new pen record set, with the winning hound scoring 1155 points. That’s not bad for a pen nicknamed the Jungle. Ronnie Ireland and George Jones have this fine facility running as good as any pen in the South. Thanks George and Ronnie for all the support through the years to the SRHA. George and Ronnie have been with us from the start and have always had the pen in first class shape for our hunts.
I can’t thank Andy and Sandra Hoyle enough for the great job they did as MOH and assistant MOH. These folks give a lot to our sport and do not get nearly enough credit for all there hard work. Thanks to the judges for an outstanding job. Thanks to Bill Moore for a great meal, if you have never eaten any of Bills barbecue you have no idea what you are missing.
We have a new sponsor for 2011 with Pride Dog Food becoming the official dog food of the SRHA. Thanks Mike Carr and Pride. We will be giving dog food away at the Great American Race and other special events through out 2011.
If you haven’t been to an SRHA hunt you owe it to yourself to come to one and see what you are missing. Come to an SRHA hunt near you and see how you stand up against some of the fastest hounds in America. To be the best you have to beat the best!
