my 3yr. old cat keeps attacking my sick 12 year old cat

i cant stop my 3 yr old cat Sug from attacking my 12 year old cat Milo who has recently come under the weather. Sug has never acted this way before he's always been a lovey dovey playful kitten but ever since Milo has gotten his ear infection, i cant make him stop. On one occasion he clawed my arm when i had only placed it between him and milo as a barrier. I'm really concerned as to why he has suddenly changed.
