Hi Dave, hope you can help me. I have bought a mandolin online. I am currently repairing it. The frets look quite worn. They have notches were the strings have worn grooves in them. It is an old bowl back one. It has a label saying it\'s Giuseppe Canini one. The frets are brass 1mm x 3mm bar type. As I have the strings off was thinking I might as well re-fret it. I do not have a press so can I get away with just pushing and hammering new ones in? I was going to just replace the top 9 frets and leave the lower ones as is. Should I do all of them? I see from your website you sell brass bar to replace them. Many thanks, Christian |

Hello, I have recently got in possession of an old Toggenburger Halszither. I am struggling to find where to purchase the strings. It has 13 strings, the lower is single and should be a C, while the remaining o es (that should be G, C, E) are by 3. Any help is much appreciated! |

Hello Dave, I like your website and seeing the range of instruments. I am in the market for buying a second hand Neapolitan mandolin. I want to spend around £150-£250. Any suggestions? Matthew |

Hi, Dave. Could you please see if you have a tailpiece for suzuki mandolin, the 4-screw one, instead of Italian 3-screw design. Thank you! |

Dear Mr Hynds, I own a pocket mandolin made by you n. 46 2016, similar to a pocket German mandolin listed on your website. It has given me lots of pleasure but unfortunately I have to sell it to part finance the purchase of a standard size mandolin. What is a reasonable price to ask? I have to resize the inside of an old violin( a fun project) . What sizing ground would you use? The Picene sizing ground is ridiculously expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative? Kind regards Andrea |

Would you be able to take on a repair on a Paul Hathway mandolin. The front has dipped and a crack in it. There is a dent in the side and the frets could do with a dressing |
