I served a mission in Nauvoo as a young missionary and came to the Ivy any chance I got. I purchased a cook book from Ann Orton and I love it. I made the blackberry scones last night and they were wonderful. I have also used the mint brownie recipe many times and have become famous for them in our local area. However, I would rather sit at the restaurant and enjoy them with some yummy lunch!

I am an unabashed fan of the Ivy Bake Shoppe. I have given your cookbook to my nieces so they have a memory of their late grandmother's hometown. I wore my Ivy t-shirt (w/the Time magazine quote) until it wore out -- your restaurant is one of the many reasons I am proud to call Iowa home.

My husband works for the railroad and comes through Ft. Madison about every 3-4 weeks. I travel with him sometimes and always make at least one visit to the Ivy. I'm in love with all the pastries, but I'm training to run a marathon, so I have to limit myself to only 1 per visit!!

See you next month!

Mom gave me your cookbook for Christmas. I LOVE IT!! I'm addicted to Bette Lee's Cinnamon Logs but I'm not sure anything can replace the Chocolate Caramel Brownies.

I've become a soup snob because of you. Nothing can compare to a fresh made Ivy soup. Feel free to send me some of my old faves for Christmas. Do you remember them?

Miss you guys,
Stacey

Martha, I recently purchased the cookbook and read it cover to cover the first night. It is so entertaining and informative and luscious. We don't get out to the restaurant like we'd like to but know the food is totally out-of-this-world. This is a lucky region. Thanks so much. K
